I know it's probably a long shot, but I need a place to store my luggage if I am to Stradbroke Iceland .. I carry a suitcase and a laptop and just not enough to be everywhere ... each site, etc..

Try both the Roma Street Station and Central Station, the main destinations for catching trains.
Even the casino in the town are bags, not sure how long, but it can always ask!
Yes, Central and Roma Street both have lockers big enough for a suitcase.
I'm pretty sure there are large lockers in the Roma Street Station. And from the central station.
